Boss is a manufacturer of effects pedals for electric guitar and
bass guitar. It is a division of the Roland Corporation, a Japanese
manufacturer that specializes in musical equipment and accessories. For many
years Boss manufactured a range of products related to effects processing for
guitars, including "compact" and "twin" effects pedals,
multi-effect pedals, electronic tuners, and pedal boards. In more recent times
they have expanded their line to include Digital Studios, Rhythm machines and
other electronic equipment.
When Roland decided to form a subsidiary company dedicated to guitars in the
early 1970s, they originally intended to call it MEG (Musical Engineering
Group). Realizing, however, that Meg was a girl's name and might dissuade male
guitarists, they searched for a name that would connote power and mastership,
and eventually came up with Boss. |

Boss DD20 GigaDelay Pedal
The World's Most Powerful Delay Pedal. The BOSS DD-20 Giga Delay offers more
User memory and the longest delay of any effect pedal—up to 23 seconds!
Delay time can be quickly set using the push-button knob or via tap tempo. And
with a choice of 11 modes—including new “Smooth” and
“Twist” delays and sound-on-sound recording—this Twin Pedal
raises the bar for delay effects. BOSS' most powerful delay pedal with up to 23
seconds of delay 11 delay modes including classic tape delay and sound-on-sound
recording New “Smooth” and “Twist” modes for subtle or
radical delay effects Memory function for changing delay modes seamlessly New
push-button knob for setting delay time in fine or coarse adjustments
23 Seconds of Pro-Quality Delay With up to 23 seconds of delay, the DD-20
easily outshines the competition and can even double as a sound-on-sound pedal.
Delay time can be adjusted via tap tempo or using a knob, which also features a
push function to set the delay range more quickly. Eleven delay modes are
provided covering everything from analog and tape delay to reverse delay and
more. A new Memory function makes it possible to change delay modes seamlessly.
New “Smooth” and “Twist” Modes The DD-20 also introduces
two all-new delay effects that are sure to blow some minds. Twist creates wild
delay effects similar to "over the top" manipulation of an analog
tape echo, while Smooth creates ultra-smooth delay effects. This is a pedal no
guitarist should be without! |

Boss CE-20 Chorus Ensemble Pedal
Details; The CE-20 Chorus Ensemble is the culmination of over 25 years of BOSS
chorus experience. This programmable chorus pedal not only models classics like
the CE-1 and SDD-320, but creates entirely new effects including chorus for
bass and acoustic guitar. New “Brilliance” and “Ambience”
knobs offer unprecedented realtime control over the chorus tone-making the
CE-20 a pedal no guitarist should be without. BOSS' finest chorus effects ever
offered in a compact pedal
6 chorus modes: Rich, Bass, Acoustic, Standard, CE-1 and Dimensional D
Brilliance parameter adjusts “sparkling” feel of chorus Ambience
control adds reverberation to chorus for greater spaciousness 4 User memories
with pedal recall Stereo In/Out and Headphone output
Classic and Modern Chorus Sounds As the creator of the chorus pedal, no one
knows chorus better than BOSS. That's why the CE-20 includes six chorus modes
covering classic sounds from the CE-1 and SDD-320 to modern chorus effects.
Three new types of chorus are also provided, for getting everything from
extremely rich sounds to chorus tuned specifically for bass and acoustic
guitar.
New “Brilliance” and “Ambience” Controls Using the
Brilliance knob, you can control the “sparkling” feel of the CE-20's
chorus sounds for effects that really cut through the mix. The secret is the
CE-20's unique ability to enhance a guitar's harmonics. Another new control is
the Ambience knob, which adds reverberation to the chorus for even greater
spaciousness and depth. There's never been a sound like it! |

Boss RC20XL Loop Station
Details; Realtime Phrase Recording and Sampling Whether for use onstage or at
home, the new RC-20XL will add depth and excitement to your performances by
allowing you to layer phrases in real time — as many stacks as you like
until you fill up the 16 minutes of ample recording space on the RC-20XL.
Explore the expressive options of sound-on-sound performance by layering your
own phrases to create a massive “one-person band” experience. Build
the ultimate solo, and do it all live in real time.
Super long recording time: up to 16 minutes!
Save up to 11 loops at a time
Undo function makes it easy to create perfect loops
Built-in auto quantize for simple and accurate loop timing
Change loop tempo without changing pitch
Footswitchable loop select (with optional FS-5U/FS-6)
More, Better The RC-20XL picks up where the popular RC-20 leaves off, as it
offers more recording time and more features, but at the same affordable price
as its predecessor. The RC-20XL inherits the same “hands-free” pedal
operation from the RC-20: Record, Play, and Overdub can be done with the left
pedal — all the while your hands are free to play your instruments. But
now you get approximately 16 minutes of recording time to capture and store
loops or one-shot phrases (three times that of the RC-20), and you can work
your way backward thanks to the new Undo function, a necessity when making
mistakes during overdub.
Performance Tools The RC-20XL has 11 memory tracks, in which you have the
choice of storing either one-shot phrases or loop phrases. During your
performance, you can switch between the tracks with an optional FS-6 Dual
Footswitch, or two FS-5U footswitches (momentary-type). The Undo function can
be a useful and musical function for erasing your previous phrase and instantly
layering a new one. After you have dazzled your crowd, now its time to bring it
to an end. The RC-20XL offers three stop options for this purpose. When you hit
the pedal, you can either immediately stop the playback, let the phrase play
until the end, or fade it out. |

Boss RT20 Rotary Ensemble Pedal
Details; From the Beatles to Jeff Beck, Santana to Stevie Ray, many guitar
greats have incorporated the rotary speaker into their rigs. With this in mind
BOSS proudly presents the RT-20 Rotary Sound Processor.
Employing COSM®-modeling technology, the RT-20 authentically reproduces
classic rotary-speaker sounds. It offers adjustable Rise Time, Horn and Bass
speed, Overdrive, and more. And not just for classic twirl, the RT-20 can be
used to create unique overdrive and pulsating effects as well. This pedal
sounds amazing, and offers a stunning graphical view of the virtual rotors on
its built-in display.
Authentic rotary speaker sounds via COSM® technology Slow/Fast transition
time is adjustable from gradual to rapid change; optional Expression pedal can
control speed in real time Onboard Overdrive effects Adjustable mix balance
between Treble Rotor and Bass Rotor 4 types of sounds, from standard rotary
speaker effects to rock-oriented tones, UNI-V, and more Guitar/Keyboard switch
Dazzling virtual-rotor display
COSM Technology Years of intensive research and development have made Roland
and BOSS world leaders in modeling technology. Roland’s breakthrough
Composite
Object Sound Modeling (COSM) uses the advantages of multiple modeling methods,
and succeeds in accurately emulating existing sounds as well as producing
sounds that have never before been created.
With the RT-20, COSM is used to simulate classic rotary characteristics, and
beyond.
The virtual horn and bass speaker can be independently adjusted, while the
RT-20’s unique graphic display provides a realtime view of the rotation
pattern and speed.
Connections
Guitars and keyboards alike can be plugged into the RT-20; use the Drive Type
switch to optimize the effects for guitar or keyboard. Surround your listeners
in animated sound with the RT-20’s dual outputs, which enable true stereo
effects. Add color by adding an Expression pedal (such as the new BOSS
FV-500H/FV-500L, optional), which lets you control parameters such as rotation
speed seamlessly from slow to fast in real time. The RT-20’s phone jack is
handy for private practice and experimentation.
Virtual Rotor Display
Thanks to its stunning visual display, the RT-20 might be the most eye-catching
pedal in BOSS history. The spinning lights don’t just look cool, they also
show the audio-rotation characteristics of the RT-20 in real time. The center
of the display, illuminated in red light, represents the virtual horn. The
outside ring, illuminated in blue, displays the rotation of the virtual bass
speaker. It’s attractive and informative! |
