Hofner HCT-500 Very Thin Hollowbody Guitar

The Hofner Contemporary HCT Very Thin Archtop Guitar features a semi-hollow body only 4 cm deep! It has two twin Hofner full size humbuckers, 3-way switching, and indvidual volume and tone controls. The Contemporary Series guitars are no yesterday's collectors items, but designed for the tough live performance of today's guitarist.

The HCT Very Thin has a lovely warm tone on the neck pickup, despite the reduced mass of wood in the body, perfect for blues and jazz. But switch to the bridge pickup and you've got a powerful treble sound to beat a 335 when doing styles such as indie music.

The Hofner HCT-VT Very Thin Features:

  • Semi-hollowbody with centre block.
  • Rosewood fingerboard with dot inlays.
  • 2 Hofner humbucker pickups.
  • 3-Way switching.
  • 2 Volume, 2 Tone controls.
  • Chrome Hardware.
  • Width at nut: 43mm

History of Hofner

Master violin maker Karl Höfner founded his own instrument company in Schönbach, Germany in 1887. With a reputation for quality, craftsmanship and innovation, Höfner soon became the largest manufacturer of stringed and fretted instruments in Germany. In 1907 he was entrusted with the repair of the violin of the Saxon King of the time, and the master builder performed his job to the full satisfaction of his client. When his two sons, Josef and Walter, joined their fathers company in 1919 and 1921 respectively, acoustic guitars already represented a significant part of Höfner’s instrument production.
