The Roland DP990 uses the authentic grand-piano 88-key stereo multi-sampled waves from Rolands top line products. The piano is truly great and when used in combination with the 3D sound mode it blows away competing products for realism. The DP-990 offers 306 various tones and conforms to GM2/GS/XG Lite. Layer two sounds with Dual mode and assign different sounds to the right and left-hand zones with Split mode. The pedals are also continuous which means every little step of pressing the pedal will vary the effect being applied. As a whole, using the new Alpha PHAII keyboard the Roland DP990 is amazing value and superb quality. Audio Song PlaybackThe DP990 has a USB socket underneath the piano top. This can be used to play back .wav files and MIDI files. In combination with the centre cancel feature you can minimize vocals on tracks and play along. This will help with ear training and is simply great fun!! You can even change the pitch of the audio being played back. There is also an audio input for mp3. Lesson PartnerThe Roland DP990 uses the great piano split feature. This allows the piano to be split into two halves both with a middle C pitch. Duets can then be played all on one instrument which is excellent for teacher/ student scenarios. There is also a metronome feature for learning to play in time. |
