The Taylor ES Pick-up system

The ES Expression system is fitted into Taylor electro-acoustic guitars from the 400 series upwards. It is state of the art in acoustic guitar amplification as it combines a brilliant pickup system and a professional quality pre-amp. Two strategically-placed Dynamic Body Sensors capture vibrations in the top of the guitar. This means that all the care and attention put into building a guitar from top quality tonewoods is not lost during amplification; when plugged in you are really hearing the true tones of the guitar. A third device is mounted beneath the fretboard. This is a patented Dynamic String Sensor and measures string vibrations, converting them into an electronic signal.

This network of magnetic, surface sensing microphones can be easily controlled by three very unobtrusive side-mounted knobs. These are Bass, Treble and Volume. Even though there is no control knob for altering the midrange, the middle can be changed by moving the treble and middle controls either way past the center indentation and giving it a boost with the volume control.

The Taylor ES Expression System is designed to eliminate feedback, so no 'feedback buster' will be required when playing on stage. The system has been specifically designed to work well at high sound pressure levels, resisting feedback even at high volume.

Be Pro-Ready!

You can connect your Taylor electro-acoustic via 1/4 jack to your amplifier or by balanced XLR to mixing consoles. Doing it this way means that because of it's low impedance level you can run a long cable without the need to plug into a direct injection box (DI Box)
