CLP-845 vs CLP-835

The CLP-845 offers a number of enhancements from the CLP-835 model below it. The key difference include a Wooden key GranTouch S action vs a none wooden key on the CLP-835. This adds a different feel and solidarity to the keyboard when being played. The other differences include Speaker diffusers on the mid range speakers on the CLP-845 and a 2 way speaker system of which the CLP-835 has only a 1-way system. The difference means the CLP-845 offers a better sound and feel compared to the CLP-835 but the other technologies effectively remain the same.

GrandTouch S Keyboard - Wooden Keys

Grand Touch-S keyboards use the same key mechanisms as Grand Touch keyboards. Compared to GH3 keyboards, Grand Touch-S keyboards not only enable diverse variations in expression based on how keys are touched, but also can freely generate a wide variety of voices ranging from fine voices to massive voices. The word key section offers a feel to the key akin to that of an acoustic piano, which the plastic keys simply can not replicate. There is a weight and solidity to the wood build of the keys (white keys only)

CFX and Bosendorfer Imperial Grand Pianos

Yamaha have added 2 of the worlds most renowned pianos, their own CFX grand and the Bosendorfer Imperial Grand. These two pianos offer completely different tones and dynamics, and are the perfect two pianos to cover all genres of piano playing. There is also a selection of other high quality pianos and acoustic sounds built in to the CLP-845 which can also be layered or split to perform all different types of musical styles. The CFX and Bosendorfer Aldo include Binaural Sampling.

Binaural Sampling

When you plug headphones in to a digital piano, the sound is fired direct to your ears, loosing that surrounding element of the sound as it bounces around the room. Binaural sampling uses a special technology that Yamaha developed, so you feel as if the sound is still firing from in front of you with its natural sound diffractions, and all in the comfort of headphones without disturbing anyone else.

Smart Pianist App

Anyone can enjoy the piano more with Smart Pianist, a dedicated app for smart devices that provides various music-related functions when connected to a compatible Yamaha piano. Connect the Yamaha CLP-845 piano to the app and it opens up a world of educational features with on-screen score for famous tuitional books and classical music pieces, as well as the ability to control and access the pianos sounds including layering and split features. It even allows you to perform along with your favourite artists music by analysing the audio of any music in your smart device, and it will calculate the chords so you can play along with it and hear all the sound through the CLP-845 speaker system.
