Grand Piano Sound In a Compact Digital Piano Size
People want to play grand pianos, but often cannot because of restrictions at home. The Clavinova CLP875 digital piano solves this problem by delivering lush playing experiences similar to grand pianos. Acoustic pianos offer an unprecedented range of expression and this is replicated in the CLP875. Furthermore there are multiple choices of grand piano to choose from at the touch of a button along with a plethora of other sounds. A grand piano can't do that!
GrandTouch Keys
When playing grand pianos, pianists make minute adjustments to their input in response to whether the hammers at the ends of the keys are striking the strings in such a way that the piano produces the desired sound. In other words, players create sound by sensing the smallest changes in the resistance they feel in their fingertips within strokes measuring only 10 mm. Thanks to this unique approach to development, the GrandTouch keyboard of the Yamaha CLP875 provides an outstanding level of control to players so that they feel the same sensations as they would on a grand piano keyboard.
Headphones Never Sounded So Good
The CLP875 makes use of the incredible Binaural sampling technology. Binaural sampling is a method of sampling in which special microphones are placed on a mannequin’s head in the same positions as the pianist’s ears to capture piano sounds the way that they sound in reality. When you plug headphones in to the CLP875 and play the CFX piano or Bosendorfer pianos, the binaural sampling takes over and you feel as you are immersed in the piano sound, just like being sat at a grand piano with the sound spread around, resonating from the strings.
Grand Expression Modelling
The CLp875 is equipped with Grand Expression Modeling. Â This groundbreaking technology enables richly varied, textured musical expression in comparison to conventional digital pianos, which tend to offer little tonal variation, inevitably resulting in a rather flat output.
The interaction and interplay of the hammers, dampers, and strings inside a grand piano respond to the intensity, speed, depth, and other subtle nuances of the pianist’s touch, creating a limitless range of tonal expression. This range comes from both types of tonal variation, the type controlled by the player and the type that occurs naturally as a result of physical phenomena happening inside the piano when it is played. When playing a grand piano, the pianist infuses their performance with different types of expression, from the force they apply when depressing the keys to what they decide to do with sustained notes in terms of releasing the keys to cut them or layering them with subsequent notes.
GP Response Damper Pedal
The CLP875 is the first in the range to offer the real feel of a grand piano damper pedal. The GP response pedal has modified pivots and a resistance that changes as you press the pedal to accurately simulate that of a true grand piano.  Not only doe the pedal simulate the resistance of grand piano dampers when the pedals first begin to take effect, but also accurately blend the tonal variation with the sensation of the dampers being raised off the strings with precision sensing of pedal depth. This allows players to practice proper pedaling—even half-pedaling—at all times.
Smart Pianist App
The CLP875 piano is compatible with Yamaha's Smart Pianist App. This app opens up a new world of features and capabilities for learning and tuition as well as making the operational features of the piano easy to access.
By using a compatible smart device/ tablet the app gives access to all the internal sounds at the touch of a finger, as well as access to a library of tuitional features for all ages. A whole collection of world renowned tuition books with the sheet music, and Yamaha's classical piano collections are available on the app. The music plays direct from the piano speakers whilst you follow along and learn to play and understand music like never before.
Not only are you able to play along with the sheet music and internal libraries of music but you a play along with your favourite audio tracks! Yes, if you choose any audio that is stored within your smart device, the smart pianist app will analyse the audio, bring up the chords and then the chords will follow the audio as it plays, allowing you to learn, have fun and play along with your very favourite music. Combined with the high quality internal amplification of the CLP875, the audio sounds truly tremendous
Bluetooth Audio
The CLP875 offers Bluetooth audio and MIDI transfer. This means you can play your audio back from he pianos speakers without he need for any cables, but you can also connect the smart pianist app wirelessly as well. Gong wireless is a highly convenient way to connect your device tot he CLP875 internal amplification.
Drums and Bass Accompaniment
The CLP875 is equipped with 20 high quality drums and bass type patterns which you a use to perform along with. The bass will follow your chords and the drummer will make you feel like your playing with a trio of friends, performing your favourite music.

The MIDI recorder offers 16 tracks to record and layer different sounds whilst the audio recorder allows you to record CD quality direct to a USB stick.
