Yamaha DSU50 Drum Stereo Condenser Microphone and Trigger Pickup

The DSU50 is Yamaha’s uniquely designed drum microphone, built specifically to capture the natural sound of an acoustic drum kit. Mounted on the bass drum hoop and facing the player, it gives you a clear, wide stereo image of the whole kit with no complicated setup. When used with the Yamaha EAD50 module, you can add effects or layer triggered sounds on top of the mic signal, by using triggers or pads, making it ideal for live performance, streaming or music production.

One DSU50 is enough to produce a clean, usable drum sound for rehearsals, live shows, recording, monitoring or streaming. If you want more detail—such as clearer cymbals or a wider room sound—adding a second DSU50 expands the stereo image without the hassle of using multiple individual microphones.

Mount Direct To The Bass Drum Or To a Mic Stand

For optimum positioning and for use of the sensor capabilities, the Yamaha DSU50 can be mounted direct to the bass drum hoop. From there it can be used to capture all surrounding drum audio as well as to make use of its trigger capabilities. The microphone chassis also houses a 3/8" mount for mounting to stands such as mic stands allowing you to capture audio wherever you wish

Digital Trigger To Play Electronic Drum Sounds From EAD50

When used with an EAD50 the DSU50 will act as a sensor when mounted tot he bass drum to send a signal to the module and trigger the built in electronic drum sounds. This allows you to use or blend these digital drum sounds along with your acoustic drums for the ultimate in flexibility and sound versatility. There is no need to buy extra triggers when it can be done from one single unit.

The DSU50 comes complete with a high grade stereo splitter cable with a 5pin to dual 3 pin at the other side for connecting and recording the proper stereo sound to the recording system.
