GrandTouch E Piano Feel

The GrandTouch-E piano action re-creates the dynamic response and feel of a real acoustic grand piano. As well as having a graded action being heavier at the bottom and lighter towards the top, the feel also has an 'Escapement' which replicates the moment the hammer leaves the key on a real piano, the subtle effects makes the player experience a much more natural feel of a piano. Both the black and white keys also come with a matte finish, replicating the original ivory of old pano keys.

Fun and Educational

Yamaha's YDP166 has built-in Bluetooth audio and MIDI capability allowing it to work and connect wirelessly with the Yamaha SmartPianist App. The app offers full control over the piano features by using the screen of the connected smart device. The app can also connect wirelessly via the built-in Bluetooth on the piano and opens up a world of educational features including access to over 300 songs along with access to famous educational music books. The apps features will allow you to learn step by step to read and perform music on the piano, yet, make it fun at the same time.

VRM - Virtual Resonance Modelling Lite

Real acoustic pianos resonate and make their own noises in harmony with notes being played. The Yamaha YDP166 re-creates this effect using VRM - Virtual Resonance Modelling, bringing the natural tones of a real piano to your ears, with all the digital advantages

Perform With Headphones

Wearing headphones allows the player to perform and practice in silence without disturbing others. It's also ideal for practice and night time. Wearing headphones often separates the player from the sound emanating from the piano and they loose a depth of sound immersion. The YDP-166 piano incorporates a Stereophonic Optimiser that simulates the natural spread of sound as if you were sitting at an acoustic piano, rather than simply emitting sound directly into your ears, creating a more immersive playing experience.

Speaker Diffuser System

The YDP166 piano is equipped with a new diffuser to enhance and make the sound clearer. Speakers can loose clarity when they do not face the person directly so the new system brings the sound back to life by diffusing the angle of the emitted sound. It creates a more pleasant sound field for both player and audience.
