    Korg KRONOS 73 - About

KRONOS is more than a new instrument. It is a milestone in synthesis and workstation evolution; one that embodies fresh ideas and breakthrough technologies. Kronos brings together multiple sound engines working in harmony and new interactive performance features that reflect the way musicians play. Most importantly, Kronos provides a seemingly inexhaustible supply of breathtaking, spectacular sounds. Prepare to be amazed.

The Korg Kronos 73 houses the latest Korg RH3 Piano Graded action for the best response possible. This also makes the product more portable for the gigging musician whilst retaining a real piano feel which is normally only found in 88 note products.

The Kronos 73 offers a huge choice of 9 different sound engines and covers every genre you could imagine. The new sounds are accessed using Virtual Memory Technology (VMT), aided by a fast SSD (Solid State Disk) provides high polyphony and massive, ultra-long, and un-looped samples; offering unheard of performance from a hardware instrument. Engines include:

    • SGX-1 Premium Piano (Acoustic Piano)
    • EP-1 MDS Electric Piano (Electric Piano)
    • HD-1 High Definition Synthesizer (PCM Virtual Memory Technology)
    • AL-1 Analog Synthesizer (Analog Modelling
    • CX-3 Tone-wheel Organ (Tone-wheel Organ Modelling)
    • STR-1 Plucked String (Physical Modelling)
    • MOD-7 Waveshaping VPM Synthesizer (VPM Synthesis)
    • MS-20EX (CMT Analog Modelling)
    • PolysixEX (CMT Analog Modelling)

Kronos 73 is capable of recording 16 tracks of MIDI data combined with 16 tracks of audio direct to the internal SSD. Up to 4 tracks can be recorded simultaneously on the audio recorder and both the MIDI and audio sequencer can access any one of the Korg Kronos vast effects system. Up to 16 effects - 12 insert effects, 2 masters and 2 total effects can be used all at once opening up creative potential never before seen in a Korg workstation.

    Smooth Sound Transition

The Korg Kronos is the first Korg product to offer smooth sound transition. It is quite often and on many products, that you hear a glitch in the sound when moving from one path to another. With Kronos this is no more, the new system allows you to change between patches and the next sound smoothly transitions across to the next. It is the perfect feature for the live musician.

    Perform Live With Set List

The KRONOS has a powerful live performance screen called Set List. For live performers on stage, one of the main problems is being able to switch between favourite settings with ease and speed whilst concentrating on their performance. Set List displays all your custom settings and favourite sounds in one easy to view, grid like display. Up to 127 settings can be stored for each live set available so it is easy to store settings for different venues or different songs with so much space available.

The display can show personal notes with information for you performance along with the sound, what type it is (combi/Program. sequence etc) and is easily visible on the contrasting black white and yellow selection box. Combined with the SST technology (SMooth Sound Transition) the set list makes the KRONOS an incredibly powerful live performing instrument.

Established in 1983 A&C Hamilton Musical Instruments maintains a healthy balance of traditional business values with a keen sense for new business ideas. Getting new customers and keeping existing customers are equally important to us. As the internet has changed all our lives we continue to grow from strength to strength applying the tried and trusted methods of traditional retail sales to this new world of internet sales and store sales. The world is a smaller place but we are all still individuals within it. It is so much more fun selling to some one you can have a chat with, either email phone or in the shop than just sending boxes via couriers. Our company has a solid financial basis to trade and all premises are owned in full by the directors.

Our Music Shop is on the outskirts of Preston with forecourt parking for 8 cars. Our closest town is Blackpool and nearby is Lytham St Annes. Blackburn and Southport are close by.
