The SE Custom 24-08 Quilt brings expanded guitar tones to players in a classic package complete with a quilted maple veneer. The Custom 24-08 Quilt keeps all the foundational specs of the original Custom 24 while taking the Custom platform to new sonic territories. Like the Core Series instrument, the SE Custom 24-08 features two mini-toggle coil-tap switches that individually tap the humbuckers for single coils sounds and a total of eight pickup configurations. Classic design elements include a maple top, mahogany back, ebony fretboard, 24 frets, 25" scale length, bird inlays, dual humbuckers, signature headstock logo, and PRS patented tremolo.

Construction

The Guitar is Made up of a mahogany body and maple neck that are glued to give you a fantastic resonant and full tone which gives the guitar a fantastic starting point on its tone. The neck has an ebony fretboard, is 24 frets allowing you for that extra if it is needed, and spread across a 25" scale length for optimum comfort. The neck contour is a wide and thin profile which different from the other prs models giving you a losing grip for a faster and sleeker movement in your hand on the fretboard. To top it of the guitar has the Paul Reed Smith bird inlays up the neck, either a flamed or quilted maple top and bound body and fretboard to give the guitar the fantastic look it is known for.

Tone

The Custom 24-08 comes fitted with the TCI 'S' treble in the bridge and TCI 'S' in the neck, these pickups give you a very pure and vintage tone with a mellow output. These are perfect for someone hunting the vintage guitar tones but wanting modern technology and build quality. Along with these already versatile pickups you have two mini toggle switches which allow you to split the humbuckers individually for a pure single coil sound. These switches give you 8 variations before you even take into account the master volume and tone controls.

PRS Horsemeat Transparent Overdrive Pedal

The PRS Horsemeat transparent overdrive is a from-scratch circuit designed to enhance guitar tone without coloring it. Using germanium diodes, Horsemeat will give throatiness without sounding nasal or too high-pitched and harmonic richness by boosting both low- and high-end frequencies, all while providing more available headroom. Depending on the setting, the PRS Horsemeat can be used as a clean boost, straight overdrive, or even enhance an amplifier's distortion by slightly pushing the front end of the amp's preamp section.
