Michael Kelly 1954 Satin Black Wash

    Construction

The 1954 is made up of an Alder body with a stunning maple cap, not only does this make the guitar look fantastic but sounds full and amazing. Topped of with a black satin wash finish this guitar looks extremely pro end. These joined with a maple neck with a rosewood fretboard make this a solid and well build instrument great for gigging and home musicians alike. 22 Medium jumbo frets and a compound radius fretboard make the neck feel smooth and comfortable in your hands.

    Pickups

In the neck position you hand a MK T Style single coil pickup for those vintage low output tones which tele style guitars are known for. In the bridge you have a Rockfield SWC Humbucker which was designed from the ground up by meticulously researching old design documents, spec sheets, wood shed articles, building, testing and re-testing for countless days and endless hours. Most importantly though Rockfield shut up and listened to what the players wanted. After all the questions were answered and the research and testing were done, they finally came out of the lab with a killer pickup that we as players are also extremely proud of. The Rockfield SWC pickup is slightly over wound and provide "ringing bell like" clean tones and growling vintage style leads with endless warmth and sustain. However, turn up the gain in your favorite amp and the natural bold and spongy tone of these pickups sizzles and cooks into a very full aggressive distortion without loosing note or tonal definition. The Split coil option or "Tapped" positions are useful and articulate well for a great pickup in any format!
